This is a beautiful song. I think it really captures many aspects of Christmas – the feeling of Christmas for a child, the nostalgia of the adult looking back, the season’s joy, and also the religious aspects as well.

The comment on the lyrics about TV – here they are for you:

There was always Christmas time
Jesus came to stay
I could believe in peace on earth
And I could watch TV all day
And so I dreamed of Christmas

He’s talking about what the holiday was like for him as a child – and frankly he’s summed it up here in a way that I haven’t seen any other Christmas song do.

Beautiful voice, lovely lyrics – this is a winner for me.

Judy, appreciate your comments on George’s new Christmas song. I still feel it could have been more.

Anyway, has anyone heard anything about a DVD of the live concert. I thought George would have it out for Christmas – but then it probably takes a while to put something like that together. And…I’ve ordered the 2009 calendar from Amazon uk, but they seem to have difficulty getting it?? Thanks GM fans.

And, George, if you read this site, may be a good time for a really nice cover album, like Songs For The Last Century (it’s wonderful) and then how about some new songs!! After a well deserved rest, please continue to do what you do best – write, produce and record. But do it your way – giving you peace, happiness and fulfillment. Blessings! Wonderful song George, I just cant stop listening to it ” December Song (I Dreamed Of Christmas )” Is my favorit Christmas song since Last Christmas.
It was a beautiful senemental song, also kind, gentle, warm and a personal touch and that is what makes it so special.
I think it is so nice to hear a song with no violence in it.
I also am so pleased that you mention Jesus in the song after all there wouldn’t be a Christmas without Jesus and he is the true meaning of Christmas.
Thank You George what a great Christmas gift to give your fans.
I wish that I had a gift to give you for Christmas. but all I have to give you is this “CHRISTMAS PRAYER ”

Ok, I’ve listened to the song a number of times from different sites. I’m hoping it is the source, but I’m having some difficulty with the song. It doesn’t capture George’s strengths. The background music and voices drown out George. I can’t hear his beautiful, melodious voice with that amazing depth and range. I often marvel at George’s diction in his songs – you normally can understand every word. I can’t understand the words. It seems like it may be a tribute to his mother, but I can’t tell. Some of the lyrics, “watch TV all day”?? I adore George and his music – but I think he should go back into the studio and remake this one! Sorry! I just don’t think it presents George at his best.

I needed to hear ‘December song’ twice to get this nice feeling – it is quite personal,sentimental, really worm, gentle and kind,pleasant for ears, and little bit like a Christmas lullaby. Well done George!!!!! We are proud of you!!! Have a lovely Christmas!!!
