GEORGE Michael is the latest pop star to get a tribute episode on musical drama series Glee.

It is believed that the third episode of the new series will be dedicated to George – and will feature the McKinley High Glee Club performing some of his hits.

Sony is re-working the singer’s 1987 album Faith – to be released worldwide in September to coincide with the show.

Bosses hope it will “introduce a new generation of fans to his music”.

The second series of Glee starts in the US on September 21 and is due here on E4 later this year.

Creator Ryan Murphy says the series will see tributes to Britney Spears and Sir Paul McCartney.

]]> Apparently, George Michael dropped the “f” word during Chris Evans’ show on BBC Radio 2.

At one point the singer, who is a car fanatic, was asked why he has never appeared on Top Gear as the “star in a reasonably-priced car”.

Believing there would be an automatic delay on his words, he replied: “Other than the fact I’d be afraid of coming last in that f****** …”

Evans quickly interrupted to apologise, before informing Michael there was in fact no delay on the show. The DJ said: “George is so relaxed and we do apologise for that – we didn’t mean to offend anyone.”

“I’m sorry everyone,” added Michael.

The George Michael impersonator Robert Lamberti, who is a former Stars In Their Eyes heat winner, was told he could not be on The One and Only because the former Wham! star was too controversial.

“They replied back to me with a list of acts and I asked them why he was not on it. They said it was because of his political views about the US President, George Bush. Because the winner goes to Las Vegas, they didn’t feel that the American people were liking George Michael at the moment,” he said.

For Mr Lamberti, business is showing no signs of abating. Riding the crest of the wave of the 1980s revival, he was returning from performing at a Marks & Spencer staff party in London on Thursday night before a gig last night in Doncaster. “The more that George is in the news, the more work I get. When he was arrested it was absolutely brilliant,” he added.
