George Michael was joined by former Sugababe Mutya Buena on stage to duet on their single, "This Is Not Real Love," in Manchester on Tuesday. A guest at the sell-out show says: "Mutya looked nervous but George put her at ease."
George Michael's Twenty Five (Aegean/Sony BMG), which arrived at No. 1 last week, fell to No. 5. On the composite European sales charts, Michael's Twenty Five opened at the top of the European Top 100 Albums chart with initial pan-European shipments of close to 450,000, according to the label.

Barlow has admitted in the past to have a cannabis habit, but insists: "The difference is I wouldn't smoke it on TV. That's not right."
THE Killers have been inspired by George Michael to write a festive song.
Brandon Flowers and the band are huge Wham! fans and loved the classic track Last Christmas.
The band, who played a sell-out gig in Glasgow last night, the same night George Michael was in town, headed back to the studio last week to record a similar sound for themselves.

Also -- at nearby Dealey Plaza -- was the piano on which John Lennon composed the 1970s peace anthem "Imagine." The piano was placed in a grassy area for a photo shoot, to be part of an exhibit celebrating peace.
The piano is owned by British pop singer George Michael and was shipped to Goss Gallery in Dallas for a display, which will include the work of three war photographers. The gallery is owned by Michael's long-time partner, Kenny Goss.

From "George Michael tops album charts"
Pop singer George Michael's first album in two years shot straight to number one, the Official UK Charts Company said on Sunday.
Michael's new album "Twenty Five" -- a reference to his 25-year pop career -- is a compilation of hit songs from his days in Wham during the 1980s to the present as a solo singer. He opened his first British tour for 15 years in Manchester on Friday.
"Twenty Five" pushed Jamiroquai's album collection "High Times: Singles 1992-2006" down to two, with the Sugababes' "Overloaded -- the Singles Collection" -- a new entry at three.
George Michael was offered a cameo in Coronation Street's Christmas special.
I'm not really sure you'd call this a review: "Down time: George Michael/Wham."

From the official site:
This exclusive concert will mark the end of George Michael's sell-out European 25 Live tour which will have played at 49 venues across Europe.
George Michael says: Almost ten years ago, during the last week of my mother's life, I told my friends and family that if I ever played my own concerts again, I would make sure to do a free one for NHS nurses. The nurses that helped my family at that time were incredible people, and I realised just how undervalued these amazing people are. And so I want to thank them with a Xmas concert, I can't wait. Neither can the tour crew, for entirely different reasons.

Anthony alerts us that the South Bank Show is available online at
"George Plays Roundhouse" says that:
George Michael is to play an intimate show in London this Christmas, for
nurses only.
The pop hero, who commences his UK tour in Manchester this Friday, will play the
recently reopened Roundhouse on December 20.
The 3,000-capacity gig is being played as a tribute to nurses, who will be the
only people able to buy tickets.
From Variety:
THERE ARE plenty of second and even third acts in showbiz, and one who is having a strong career resurgence is George Michael. He is a quarter way through his current European tour and response has been overwhelming. In Copenhagen on Saturday, he performed for an audience of 50,000. He beat U2's record for jamming people into Denmark's Parken Stadium. Before an American conquest, however, George will put on display the John Lennon piano he owns. Lennon wrote "Imagine" on this instrument. The piano, which George purchased many years ago, debuts again in December at the Kenny Goss' gallery in Dallas. Kenny is George's partner. A limited-edition book, with pictures of the piano, will be sold -- profits going to AmFAR.
Here is yet another review of TwentyFive, with this one questioning if it's really worth it if you already have the other greatest hits collection of Ladies and Gentlemen.

Paul tells us that there is a video for promoting 25 live: a club megamix including George's hits.
Sugababes Keisha Buchanan talks about "This Is Not Real Love" in the article "My Agent Secret."
The release coincides with Mutya's single with George Michael called This Is Not Real Love. And Keisha admitted they'd rather they hadn't clashed with their old bandmate.
"We would have wanted to avoid that," she said. "We wouldn't want to release on the same day. It doesn't make sense anyway because we know her. It's awkward."
Heidi added: "Mutya was approached by George Michael a few years ago when she was still in the Sugababes and we all thought it was fantastic. He's done a lot of amazing stuff. I've heard the song and Mutya's voice sounds beautiful on it. But I'm not keen on the song."
According to "Music Fans to Leave CDs on Shelf," George Michael's TwentyFive is expected to be a big Christmas seller.

From SoundGenerator:
"This Is Not Real Love" claims George Michael. Whilst it would be very easy to trash George as a desperate, weed-addicted pop has-been, this duet with Mutya Buena is in fact pretty good; an emotive ballad with a casual, laid-back feel, proving the ex-Wham man isn't quite dead and buried just yet.
From News & Star:
The 80s icon has been after Mutya Buena since her days in the Sugababes, and finally the duet he’s been waiting for is here. After all the criticism from tracks like Shoot The Dog and An Easier Affair, This Is Not Real Love is a predictably safe affair, with great vocals from both singers jumping out at your ears.

ITV1's South Bank Show special featuring George Michael pulled in 2 million viewers and a 10.4% share of the audience at 10pm, but failed to be the ratings winner on Tuesday night, despite media attention, according to "Michael Interview not Much Cop."
