Rubin and Angelo tell us that George Michael will possibly be appearing on “American Idol” today.  For more information, please see “George Michael Bringing “Freedom” to Idol Finale.”

A rep for Idol would not confirm Michael’s appearance, while a rep for the singer could not be immediately reached.

I would love nothing more than to see George Michael on “American Idol”…I think he’s long overdue for his music to be recognized on the show. Not many current songwriters have had the success that he has had. He has been overlooked for too long.

I did not get this till after he sang…He was on AI tonight and singing “Praying For Time” wow what a suprise! They started playing and singing his songs…and building it up to his performance… and I was like oh my gosh! I kept saying to my wife…”I like Bryan Adams but he is no George Michael”….”I like One Republic but he can’t sing live like George” …and then he comes on the show! BIG SUPRISE!! He is the man!!!

George was the ultimate professional on American Idol last night. Although suffering from a cold that left him barely able to speak, he carried on and pulled it off. Being the perfectionist that he is, I’m sure it was difficult for George to go on knowing his voice was not at its peak. But, as usual, he was amazing in all respects. My admiration for him as a person and performer just keeps growing.

Although I am not a big fan of AI I watched the show because I heard the rumor about GM appearing. He stole the show as far as I am concerned. He shows who amature the other singers are in comparison.

I was soooooo glad to see George Michael on “AI”. I waited in anticipation of his performance. Seeing his music being presented in this way was a huge step and long overdue for an enormously talented and gifted singer/songwriter. I applaud him for his performance and look forward to seeing him live. :!: :!:

While I am not a fan of American Idol and hate the concept of the show at a very fundamental level (watched it for the first time last night for obvious reasons), I think having a member of “pop royalty” like George Michael perform at the end as opposed to a “flavor of the moment” artist was a brilliant idea - if not for anything else, it at least emphasizes to the contestants that George Michael is the type of musician they should at least try and aspire to be artistically.

What a night! Faith, Father Figure, Freedom and of course Praying For Time with his unique voice and performance. George has got a lot of good friends (Cowell, Abdul..) who can help him in the US.
I think GM is back to life after the bad days we never want to remember  He looks great again!

George Michael looked so great on AI last night, and his voice was great too. He is still sexy, still the greatest male singer, I hope he continues to sing and write more songs. I hope to see him more on television in the future. He is truly creative in singing and everything he puts his hands on. Good Luck George!!!

Amazing performance. He was sporting a slightly longer hairstyle which I liked. Also looked like he lost weight.

The only thing I didn’t like were the sunglasses he was wearing. Way too big. Looked like something out of the 70’s.

Reports say that the viewer count for the American Idol finale was up approximaely one million people. Call me biased, but I think we can attribute it to the advanced word that George Michael would appear. I for one NEVER watched the show before! And of course George truly had the presence and performance that makes him a role model for aspiring “idols.” Thanks, George, for sharing your talent with us.

 OMFG My husband is taking me to Boston to see the arstist I love the most, sorry did I mention the I live in Australia, (in the middle of nowhere, which you would understand if you lived in Australia). This is a huge thing that he has done for me, and I will treasure it forever. I was blown away to see him on AI, totally unprepared for that, Don’t get many rumors down here. Will be my dream concert. Thank you George, for the times you have made me dance, cry, sing etc….
